Pollywood is developing Bio structural materials - primarily woodfibre based - for a variety of uses both internal and external. We are a self sufficient SME (preferring not to take institutional investment capital) working together with several UK universities. R & D funding for the next 14 months has been allocated by an industry body which requires a replacement of a vital component in its supply line. Pollywood have been compared to steel, glassfibre, solid wood and aluminium and emerged the preferred choice following many months due diligence. We have been boosted in our aspirations by the allocation of a mature undergraduate to work with us for the summer recess and are encouraged by his interest and enthusiasm for the potential of Pollywood. Whilst still pre-trading after three years of development, we now have sufficient impetus to grow quickly from TRL 2 to TRL 7 within the present trade investment. We have built a strong foundation, forging great relationships with suppliers, machine manufacturers and potential customers for our first offering of tubing. Pollywood is a disruptive, Bio, energy saving and Carbon Dioxide absorbing alternative for steel, glass fibre aluminium and other currently specified environmentally destructive structural materials.
